World Recreational Fishing Conference Student Sponsorships

The eighth World Recreational Fishing Conference will take place July 16-20 in Victoria, BC. Held every three years, the conference providea a forum to discuss current research on recreational fisheries. Themes include Recretional Fishers Driving Habitat Outcomes, Adaptive Environmental Management of Recreational Fisheries, and Citizen Science and Recreational Fisheries.  As part of our goal to increase conservation outcomes for fish, wildlife and their habitats, HCTF is helping to build the next generation of fish and wildlife professionals by providing internships, scholarships and sponsored learning opportunities for BC post-secondary students.

If you are currently enrolled in a post-secondary program related to fish conservation or management and would like to apply to have your World Recreational Fisheries Conference registration fees and accommodation costs[1] covered by HCTF, please complete the following application and email to Shannon West at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.  by April 30th, 2017.  Please note students will be responsible for covering all other costs related to attending the conference, including transportation and meals (other than those included as part of their conference registration package).
