Criteria
The purpose of CEAF is to help provide meaningful outdoor experiences for students that support inquiry and field investigation skill development. Field trips and project grants for K-12 classes and or schools in BC must:
- Be conducted in an outdoor nature setting
- Be focused on a conservation theme such as fish, wildlife or habitat
- Be linked to curriculum
- Be hands-on or experiential for students
- Include a pre and post field trip plan that extends learning before and beyond the trip
Field trip and field projects must be more than just a student "outing." To be eligible your project must include pre-trip classroom activities, student activities during the trip as well as post-trip activities. Applicants are also asked to describe how this particular field trip will be hands-on and how learning is extended beyond the field trip. Other considerations to consider in your application are linkages to school or district goals, WildBC, and community groups.
Grant Requirements
To receive your funding successful grant applicants will need to:
- Submit a field trip summary report with field trip photo(s)
- Complete an online post evaluation
- Submit a school or school district invoice (using the invoice template) with receipts by July 15th for Spring grants or by March 31st for Fall/Winter grants
